Little Miracle
by Jodi Brydon
Oil

This painting makes me think of God’s beauty and care for us as his creation. When I see a miracle of life, how could I not believe in the Father of Creation and have faith in his awesome plan!

Grandmother’s Love
by Heather Aitken
Oil

My son, do not forget my teaching,
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

(Proverbs 3: 1,5,6)

Grandmother and grandson
by Janice Donato
Oil

This painting is about the intergenerational
sharing of faith.

I am reminded of your sincere faith,
which first lived in your grandmother and in your mother
and now lives in you.

(2 Timothy: 5)

Reflections
by Janice Donato
Oil

In the past few years, I’ve come to truly value that time when can I sit down with a cup of coffee, to read and reflect, to pray and to ponder and paradigm-shift.The open book on the table could be the Bible or one of many other thought-provoking books by such authors as Brian McLaren or Philip Yancey.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

The spirit is willing but the body is weak.

by John Everett Millais)

Jerusalem
by Janice Donato
Acrylic

My husband Louis and I visited Israel in 1984 on a tour led by Audrey and Frank Hare. We stayed in an 800-year-old Polish nun’s convent in the Old City. Here Lou leans out of the window, looking across the city that brought for us all the ancient yet ever-new stories to life; a city where elementary school teachers carry machine guns with them when they take their students out on field trips.

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing.”

Butterfly Face

Nothing is hidden from God.
He sees that there can be beauty in all of us.

Obedience
by Jennifer Debrecen
Photography

The greatest expression of faith
is a life lived through obedience.
The cross gives us the courage to do so
and hope supplies our faith.
Faith is an action,
completing God’s covenant
given by grace to us.
