Calla Lilies
by Katherine Wilson
Oil

Our faith is like the growth of a flower. We start off tightly wound and still green, but with God showering his light and mercy down on us, we loosen up and are more and more willing to listen. We can one day be as beautiful as God’s beautiful creation.
“Look at how the lilies grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these.”
(Luke 12: 27)

Pink Tulip

I painted this picture to give to my mom.
I love my mom and I love tulips.
I’m glad God created them both.

The Antique Pitcher
by Marcelle Johnston
Oil

God send his son to die for my sins. Therefore I am happy to know that I will receive a new body and will be forever with him in his glory.

As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone.

(Psalm: 103: 15, 16)

He has made everything beautiful in its time.
He has also set eternity in the hearts of men;

See how the lilies of the field grow.
They do not labour or spin.

in all his splendour
was dressed like one of these.

This painting is a special memory
for me of a peaceful place,
a place where I could picture
myself spending time with God.

The House
by Lynn Wright

Unless the Lord builds the house,
its builders labour in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.

(Psalm 127:1)

As You Are Planted
by Coleen Turner Proietti
Oil

But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

(Jeremiah: 17: 7,8)

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and he brought them out of their distress.
He stilled the storm to a whisper;
the waves of the sea were hushed.
They were glad when it grew calm,
and he guided them to their desired haven.

(Psalm 107:28-30)

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.

(John 3:8)

After a Rain Storm
by Marcelle Johnston

"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbour and hate your enemy'. But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you...He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."

(Matthew 5:43-45)

Lynn Wright
Country Road
Oil

"A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop - a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. He who has ears, let him hear."

(Matthew: 13:3-9)
