The most important thing to me as I walk through this life is that God’s Spirit shine through me.

As an artist I have worked in many mediums, however there is something about oil painting that keeps drawing me back.

Communicating through words while helpful is not necessarily the deepest form of communication. I feel the essence of art is, “lived experience”. Therefore I can only create from my own experience. The particular and personal experience of creating art should be both singular and universal. I feel the experience an artist and a viewer bring to a piece of art work allows for an intuitive communication and this opens us up to God’s Spirit to commune with us. The feelings the viewer comes with, broadens and validates my perceptions as well.

The process of art is a deeply emotional and risky one. God himself asserted that in H is creation of this world and everything in it. I believe it is in the act of creation that God allows His spirit and personality to shine though and touch others. Art is a gift from God and I am humbly enjoying it and hopefully being responsible and thankful enough to use His gift wisely and well. I feel blessed to have been given such a special and intimate gift. I know with time and experience, my work will relate more and more to the life I walk with Jesus and His Spirit that fills my soul.
